I sometimes find artists that i listen to on a bad day and unfortunately never go back to. This pile is usually full of people who write about their watch or their latest dance moves. There have been some mistakes but most of the time I’m glad to never press replay.

Big K.R.I.T was in this pile. After his last release i thought he was doomed to repeat. Over and over that southern drawl trying so hard to infect a wider audience but always falling to poor production on half albums. Cadillactica is a galaxy far far away from that future. This album like other number ones shaped this year for me. There was a soul in every track and throughout this haunting feeling that K.R.I.T was delivering an opus.

It hits you, there are bars in there that make you want laugh , clever flips on syllables that catch your ear and this overwhelming push to nod your head on a crowded morning train. It is beyond dope and without music like this I wouldn’t expand my taste. I wouldn’t question before i threw away someones soul onto a pile of the soulless.

This album will move you. Cop it.
